Summer:

Wayanad experiences the summer season from March to May. The region’s lowest temperature is around 20*c, and the maximum is around 35*c. The mid-afternoons are often avoided during the season. Wayanad receives an average annual rainfall (heavy) of over 3000 mm, and the weather remains humid, with temperatures ranging between 17*c and 29*c. However, adventurers, nature lovers, and trekkers can visit for treks, hikes, and nature walks through the dense natural vegetation that engulfs the region. It is a good season for activities like wildlife tours and waterfalls. Some important festivals during the season can also be witnessed, like the day of birth of Lord Krishna and Ashtami Rohini, celebrated in August / September.

Winter:

Best Time to visit Wayanad

This period is generally considered the peak and the best season for tourism. It starts in October and stays till February end. The hill station’s lowest temperatures experienced in the season are about 10*c, while the maximum is around 24*c. The weather remains misty, breezy during the day, and chilly at night, making it cool and pleasant throughout the season. December to February is considered the peak winter months. The climate is perfect for exploring nature reserves, sightseeing, bird watching, or exploring wildlife. Easter, Christmas, and New Year are some festivals celebrated in the district with great enthusiasm in winter.
